Richard Robert Williams, 81

Palm Harbor, FL - Richard Robert Williams, 81, the beloved husband of Marjorie Brooke Williams, of Palm Harbor, FL , passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Scotia, after a long illness.

Born and educated in Troy, NY, he was son of the late Richard W. Williams and Anne Paxton Williams Allen. He was a Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. Upon return, he worked for the Troy post office as a rural letter carrier for 30 years. He lived in Troy until his retirement in 1985, when he and his wife happily moved to Safety Harbor, FL and then moved to Palm Harbor, FL in 1994.

He was an avid bowler and golfer, who had two holes in one.

He was a member of the Troy Lodge of Elks and the National Letter Carriers Association.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Marjorie Caron (Robert) Wagner, West Sand Lake, Diane Williams Clancy, Scotia, and Craig (Amy) Williams, Venice, FL; his grandchildren Jennifer Kells (Robert), Valerie Dingee (Donald), Robert Wagner (Courtney), Tabitha Clancy, Melissa Clancy-Keitzman (Paul), Casey (Jennifer) and Corey Williams; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Richard Robert Williams, Jr.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, August 2 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. A memorial service will be held after the calling hours at 6:30 PM at the FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating. Interment will be private.
