Richard Allen Harper

Brunswick - Professor Richard Allen Harper, 80, of North Lake Avenue died Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a brief illness.

Born in Anderson, IN,  was son of the late Aubrey Harper and Mabel Harper.  He was raised in Anderson, Indiana and resided in Troy and Brunswick since 1973. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chicago and his PhD from New York University.

Brunswick - Professor Richard Allen Harper, 80, of North Lake Avenue died Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a brief illness.

Born in Anderson, IN,  was son of the late Aubrey Harper and Mabel Harper.  He was raised in Anderson, Indiana and resided in Troy and Brunswick since 1973. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chicago and his PhD from New York University. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Professor Harper was a Physics Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1973-86.  He enjoyed gardening.  

Survivors include a son, Shawn (Sara) Edward Harper, Petersburg, VA; two brothers, William (Alice) Harper, Long Boat Key, FL and Jack Harper, Anderson, IN; granddaughter, Julia Harper and two nieces,  Darby and Reagan Harper.
