Port Orange, FL- A Memorial service for Raymond John McCabe will be today (Wednesday, March 1, 2006) at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange. Raymond was born July 12, 1932 in Troy NY to Elwood and Belva (Campbell) McCabe. The Lord called him home on Monday, February 27, 2006 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth G. McCabe of Port Orange. He is also survived by a brother, Campbell R. McCabe and his companion Barbara Fontana of Grand Island, NY, a sister, Belva Lee Hawks and her husband John of Powder Springs, GA, his sister-in-law Nancy A. McCabe of Hoosick Falls, NY, 15 nieces and nephews and their families, his aunt Helen (Brown) McCabe, and many cousins . He is predeceased by two brothers, Loren E. McCabe, and Eugene K. and his wife Doris Y. McCabe. He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School. He retired from the New York State Department of Transportation and was a member of the U.S. Harness Association. He moved from Sycaway to Port Orange in 1989 following his retirement. Memorial contributions can be made to Fund Development, The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange FL, 32129-9966. Following cremation, interment will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, NY.
