Raymond G. 'Jugger' Lape

West Sand Lake — Raymond `Jugger' Lape, 89, formerly of Route 43 West Sand Lake died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Barnwell Nursing & Rehab. Center in Valatie, after a long illness.

He was the son of the late George and Catherine Lape and the husband for over 50 years of the late Edith Morey Lape. He resided for most of his life in West Sand Lake and attended the Averill Park Schools.

Ray worked for Miller's Supermarket in West Sand Lake for over 50 years, retiring in 2011.

He was a member of the West Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Company for over 70 years and was a Life Member at the time of his passing.

Survivors include his children Alfred (Tracy) Lape, West Sand Lake, John (Lori) Lape, West Sand Lake, Edward (Dixie) Lape, Queensbury and Shelley (Brian) Denue, Michigan; his grandchildren, Amanda (Neil) Mitchell, Melissa (John) Orth, Nicole (Jared) Hollister, Rebecca (Louis) Taylor, Alfred Lape, Jr., Angela Lape, Raymond Lape, Philip Lape and Alisha Denue; his great grandchildren, Meghan, Remy, Christian, Miranda, John & Cole. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Lape and a son, Michael Lape .

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 4-7 PM with a funeral service at 7 PM with Rev. Trygve Tomlinson, officiating.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
