Ralph J. Colongione, 75

Cohoes - Ralph J. Colongione, 75, of Waterside Way died Saturday, October 16, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital Troy after returning from a vacation in Las Vegas.

Born in New York City, he was son of the late Alfonse Colongione and Victoria Nardone Colongione and husband for 46 years of Patricia M. Jarocki Colongione. He was raised in New York City, lived in Pittstown for 28 years, Latham from 5 years, the past 3 years in Cohoes and was a 1952 graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Colongione operated a gas station with his father for 10 years on Hoosick and Sixth in Troy and later worked for Gallo's Texaco in North Troy, Scolite and was Rensselaer County Deputy County Engineer Administrator for 16 years retiring in 1997.

He was a member of the Rensselaer County Highway Association and an avid model train and toy collector.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Loni (David) Hetman of Troy, Tiffany (Thomas) Bentley of Glenville and Tiia (Scott) Alkinburgh of Niskayuna; two grandchildren, Sarah Bentley of VA and Madisen Hetman of Troy; two sisters, Gertrude Scifo of Troy and Grace (John) Mainello of Troy; his beloved dog, Betsy and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 8:40AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30AM at St. Augustine's Church North Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8PM.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill.
