Ralph E. Chittenden, 90

Troy Ralph E. Chittenden, 90, of Tower Avenue, died Friday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a brief illness.

Born in Sand Lake, he was son of the late Ernest E. and Phebe J. Whiting Chittenden and husband for 62 years of Grace Follos Chittenden. He had resided most of his life in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Chittenden was employed at W&LE Gurley in Troy in the cabinet shop many years ago.

He was a member of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Ronald Chittenden of Waterford and Richard Chittenden and wife Joanne Cote Chittenden of Brunswick; a sister, Ella (James) Smith of Troy; his grandchildren Tracy Carroll of Clifton Park, Scott Chittenden of Saratoga Springs, Brian Repecki of Brunswick, Eric Chittenden of Ballston Spa and Kevin Repecki; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lona Repecki and a brother, Harold A. Chittenden.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Peter Kelly, Pastor of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 3-6pm. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Chittenden to the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Road Loudonville, NY 12211.
