Prescott Curtis Sook, 79

Loudonville Prescott Curtis Sook, 79, well-known area attorney, died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at his residence after a brief illness.

Born September 4, 1925 in Troy, he was the son of the late Bentley P. Sook and Helen (Curtis) Sook and husband for 53 years of Judith Frayne Sook.

He had resided in Loudonville for 48 years and was a graduate of Troy High School, Union College and Albany Law School.

Since 1952, he practiced general law for many years with Cooper, Erving & Savage as a partner, after which he was in private practice in Albany and later Menands, until his retirement in 2002.

He was a longtime member of the Board of Directors, a Past Treasurer and Past President of the Mohawk-Hudson River Humane Society, a Past Regent of the Philip Livingston Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution and a past member of the Country Club of Troy and the Ft. Orange Club. He was a member of the Schuyler Meadows Country Club and the Albany County and New York State Bar Associations and served 3 years in the US Navy in the South Pacific during World War II as a pharmacist.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters, Victoria S. Druschel of Schenectady, Katharine S. Parsons of Rochester, Elizabeth S. Rossi of Loudonville and Caroline S. Dwyer of Shrewsbury, NJ; five grandchildren, Julia and Elizabeth Parsons, Prescott and Suzanne Rossi and Samuel Dwyer; a sister, Sallie S. Joachim of Lake Placid; a nephew, Eric Joachim of Schenectady and a niece, Janet Self of Seoul, South Korea.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 12 noon at St. Peter's Episcopal Church 107 State Street Albany where the Burial Office will be read by Rev. Paul Hartt, Rector. The family will accept visitors prior to the service at 11:15 am in the Pumpelly Room at the church. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Sook to the Capital City Rescue Mission PO Box 1999, 259 South Pearl Street Albany, NY 12202 or Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
