Troy - Philip J. Miller, 66, died Friday, October 11, 2013, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany surrounded by his family and friends.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Alf W. Miller and Ethel M. Philipson Miller and husband for 42 years of Stephanie E. Miller. He resided in Troy and Saratoga and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1965 and the Junior College of Albany.
After 27 years of civilian and military service, Philip retired from the NY Air National Guard / Air Force with a rank of Chief Master Sargeant.
Philip was a devoted family man and well-liked by all who knew him. He was a camper, woodworker, auto racing enthusiast, and enjoyed boating on Lake George.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Maria Miller; a son, Scott Michael (Jaime) Miller; two brothers, Alan K. (Linda) Miller and Andrew P. (Patricia) Miller; two grandchildren, Ella Joan and Nora Marion Miller; and nephews and niece, Alex, Cody, Gregory and Victoria.
A special thank you from the family to the staff of St. Peter's Hospital (2 McAuley), St. Peter's Rehab Center, and St. Peter's Hospice Inn for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
A funeral service for family and friends will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the Third Presbyterian Church, 113 Winter Street, Troy with Rev. John McAuley, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, Wednesday at 12:30PM.
