Patrick J. Rinaldi, 60

Troy - Patrick J. Rinaldi, 60, of South Lake Avenue died Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Anthony Joseph Rinaldi and Theresa Jane Burke Rinaldi and husband for 38 years of Nancy Dillon Rinaldi. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and in the first class of Respiratory Therapy attending Hudson Valley Community College.

Pat was a respiratory therapist for Memorial Hospital for 17 years and later the Director of the Lithotripsy Department.

He was a founding father and hall of fame goalie of the Capital District Hockey Association, on the first team of the Troy Patriots Pop Warner Football and later as a coach, and worked the Turkey Trot in Troy every year for the past 33 years. Pat collected sport memorabilia, was a huge NY sports fan and collected autographs.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughter, Cheryl Rinaldi (Nicholas) McDonald, Ballston Lake; his son, Michael Rinaldi, Watervliet; two sisters, Susanne T. Haberbush, Scotia and Regina S. Rinaldi, Tampa; two grandchildren, Kyler and Kaitlyn; his beloved dog, Yogi and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael A. Rinaldi.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James J. Vaughan.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Patrick J. Rinaldi to the Pop Warner Troy Patriots Football, Homefield Turnpike Elementary School, 55 New Turnpike Road, Troy, NY 12182l.
