Patrick J. 'Tim' Collins, 79

Troy - Patrick J. 'Tim' Collins, 79, of 23rd Street Troy died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital Troy.

Born and raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY, he was son of the late Hugh Collins and Jane Carlin Collins and survived by the love of his life, his wife of 40 years, Patricia Barnes Collins. He had resided in Brooklyn for 25 years, moving to the Albany area and on to Troy where he lived for the past 35 years. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Catholic University in 1955 and a Master's degree in History from The College of St. Rose in 1962.

Mr. Collins was Administrator of LaSalle School in Albany for several years and prior to that taught history at Christian Brothers Academy in Albany.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Albany.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Dr.s Timothy Patrick (Susan) Collins, Hopewell Junction, NY; two daughters, Kate (Steve) Koval, Averill Park and Eileen (T.J.) Culliton, Poestenkill; 6 grandchildren, Stephen, Timothy, Jack, Ryan, Liam and Caroline; a sister, Jane Chapman, Florida and a brother, William Collins, Maryland. He was predeceased by three brothers, Hugh, Jack, and Edward Collins.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson , Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
