Norma 'Jeanne' Rowand, 79

Cohoes - Norma 'Jeanne' Rowand, 79, of Eddy Village Green, formerly of Harrisburg, PA, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at her home in Cohoes after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.

Born in Springfield, OH, she was daughter of the late Ivan O. and Emily Davison Tischer and wife for 49 years of the late George W. Rowand. She had resided in Harrrisburg, PA for many years.

Jeanne was employed as a secretary for Pennsylvania Rural Electric Cooperative in Harrisburg.

She was an avid bridge player and golfer.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue (Jim) Kuba, Clifton Park; a son, Dr. Randall (Debbie) Rowand, York, PA; her grandchildren, Dan Kuba, Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Mark (Maura) Rowand, York, PA, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Bright, York, PA, Jeffrey (Leah) Rowand, York, PA and Anne Rowand, Bethesda, MD and two great grandchildren, Mack Rowland and Jason Bright.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Gardner Earl Crematory Chapel in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NY with Pastor Jeff Silvernail, officiating. Interment will be in Shoops Cemetery in Harrisburg, PA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Norma Jeanne Rowand to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard Rensselaer, NY 12144.
