Myrtle Barkman Miller , 92

North Greenbush Myrtle Barkman Miller , 92 ,formerly of West Sand Lake died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush after a long illness.

Born in West Berne, NY, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Barkman and Elmeda (Proper) Barkman and wife of the late Gail Frank Miller.

She had resided in West Berne 15 years, Rensselaerville, West Sand Lake and then the Albany-Colonie area.

Mrs. Miller was employed at Albany Medical Center as a cashier for 11 years, retiring 34 years ago.

She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Friendship group the church. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW #1019 Oppenheim Post Albany.

She is survived by a son, Leonard H. Winn of Colonie; a daughter, Helen V. Drobner (Everett) of Selkirk; a brother, Theodore Barkman Jr. of Delmar; two grandchildren, Susan Jones (fiancé Jack Stratta) of Ravena and Arthur Drobner of Selkirk; four great-grandchildren, Christos Jones and Kaitlyn, Stephen and Andrea Drobner and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Dorothy McCarthy, Jessie VanAlstyne, Mabel Wertman and Jennie Messerle and a brother, Stanley Barkman.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Bush, Pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie.
