Mildred Ostrom Waite , 93

Delmar Mildred Ostrom Waite , 93 ,of Delmar died Thursday, July 29, 2004 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Clifton Park, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Ostrom and Ada (Mawby) Ostrom and wife of the late Douglas O. Waite.

Mrs. Waite was continually employed in the securities industry for more than 75 years. She worked for the brokerage firm of Howell, Wiggin and MacArthur in Albany from 1929-1934 and was employed by the investment counsel partnership of Betts & Morris and its corporate successor, Van Cleef, Jordan and Wood from 1934 to date.

She was a former trustee and treasurer of the Rensselaer County Historical Society in Troy.

She is survived by her son, Orville Waite of Delmar; a brother, Wallace M. Ostrom of Clifton Park, and a number of nieces and nephews including Marjorie Peplowski and Gordon Ramsay. She was predeceased by a sister, Lois Ramsay and a brother, Kenneth Ostrom.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory Mildred Waite to the Rensselaer County Historical Society 57 Second Street Troy, NY 12180.
