North Greenbush Mildred M. Cottrell ,88,of North Greenbush Road, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Norman Cottrell Sr. and Magadelene (Fiedler) Cottrell.

She had resided in the Troy and North Greenbush areas all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School and attended Russell Sage College and Mildred Elley for secretarial.

Miss Cottrell was a clerical worker at the New York State Department of Commerce for 42 years retiring 18 years ago. Prior to that she worked at Albany Savings Bank and WP Herbert in the bookkeeping department.

She was active in the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy, holding office in the Apworth League and was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the administration board and treasurer of the Memorial Fund.

Survivors include her sister, Edna M. Cottrell at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush and her special friends of many years, Bev and Tom Stevens of West Sand Lake. She was predeceased by two brothers, Norman E. Cottrell, Jr. and Samuel E. Cottrell.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Karyl Hopp, Pastor of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
