Mildred A. (Cookus) Cookus

Menands - Mildred A. Cookus, 96, of Park Hill died Friday, October 31, 2014, at St. Peter's Hospital after a  long illness.

Born in Broadway, VA , she was daughter of the late William E. Cookus and Elsie Arehart Cookus. She was raised in Broadway, Virginia, resided in Richmond, VA  for 52 years prior to moving to Menands in 1999 and was a graduate of Broadway High School. 

Ms. Cookus was a telephone operator for the Commonwealth of Virginia for several years, retiring in February of 1981.  

Survivors include her sister and caregiver, Amelia C. Rea, Menands; two nephews, Douglas W. (Michelle) Rea, Menands and Robert C. Rea Jr., Watervliet and a great nephew, Christopher Rea, Yonkers.

Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in  Memory Gardens Colonie.
