Mazie Ruth Horton Pierson, 93

Wynantskill- Mazie Ruth Horton Pierson, 93, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at hospice at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Sand Lake, she was the daughter of the late Perry Horton and Jennie (Champhine) Horton and wife of the late Vernon M. Pierson.

She had resided in Wynantskill most of her life.

Mrs. Pierson was a homemaker and many years ago worked at Albia Box Company.

She was very active in the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill as a Sunday school teacher and in the women's organizations.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane E. Pierson of Wynantskill and Ann Hagy of Rensselaer; four grandchildren, Rev. Mark Hagy (Nancy) of N. Umberland, PA, Paul Hagy (Sheryll) of Gainsvoort, Dr. Timothy Hagy (Joanne) of Spencerport, NY and Susan Brooks (Kenneth) of Stony Creek, NY; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Clifford, Hubert, Clyde Horton and four sisters, Leah and Irma Horton, Pearl Miller and Jessie Wendell.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11am at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Kerri Haveman, Pastor of the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8pm.

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
