Maureen Conway Wachter Fortin, 59

Brunswick - Maureen Conway Wachter Fortin, 59,of Tower Avenue, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Daniel and Helen O'Brien Conway and wife of the William J. 'Bill' Fortin and the late Charles Wachter.

She had resided in Troy all her life and was educated at Catholic Central High School class of '66, Hudson Valley Community College School of Nursing and attended State University of New York at Utica.

Maureen was a Registered Nurse at Visiting Nurse Association of Troy and more recently was a Nursing Supervisor at the Van Rensselaer Manor retiring several years ago.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Matthew D. (Dorothy M.) LaClair of Bethlehem and Seth LaClair of Troy; step children, Tara M. (Matt) Hepp of Schenectady, Tia J. Pelton of Watervliet, Paul Fortin of Poestenkill, Peter Fortin of Troy and Phil Fortin of Ballston Spa; a sister, Sharon (Kevin) Farnam of North Greenbush; two brothers, Daniel (Vanessa) Conway of Glendale, CA. and Brian (Beth) Conway of Valatie; her grandchildren, Brittany L., Matthew C., Justin R., Braden M., Jakob J., Ava M., Cameron J. and Sawyer LaClair and Kayla M., Veda and Mark Christopher Pelton and was the beloved aunt of Erin, Dylan and Kathryn Farnam.

Funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 8:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. James J. Vaughan, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4-8 PM.
