Maureen A. Dean (nee FitzGerald), age 78

Aiken, SC - Maureen A. Dean (nee FitzGerald), age 78, passed away August 28, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Born April 18, 1933 in Troy, NY. Her parents were Gerald B. FitzGerald and Lucy K.(Heenan) FitzGerald. She married Thomas N. Dean in 1962. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY in 1950 and continued her education at the State University of New York-Albany graduating with a B.S. in Commercial Education in 1954. Before her marriage, she was employed as the Credit Manager at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Maureen was a member of the American Association of University Women, the Aiken Bridge Club, Gourmet Club and the Hounds Lake Country Club.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Thomas N. Dean, Aiken; a daughter, Kyle M. Vaaler, Lakeville, MN; a son, Thomas F. (Mary Catherine) Dean, Katy, TX; a sister, Helen Breen, Troy, NY and a brother, Gerald FitzGerald, Plymouth Meeting, PA, and four grandchildren: Ellen and Allison Vaaler and Kevin and Thomas Dean.

Her physical presence will be missed, but her loving spirit will be felt forever.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 11 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson , Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Troy.
