Mary Anna Schmidt, 84

Brunswick - Mary Anna Schmidt, 84, of Genesee Street died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Waterford, she was daughter of the late Joseph Gorski and Mary (Jaroz) Gorski and wife of Bernard L. Schmidt for 59 years. She was raised and resided in Waterford for 25 years and in Brunswick for many years and attended Waterford High School.

Mrs. Schmidt was the head seamstress at Colonial Army and Navy in Troy for 18+ years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Patricia A. (John) Maloney of Voorheesville, Maryann S. (Robert) Henry of Wynantskill, Joseph R. (Donna) Schmidt of East Greenbush, Francis J. Schmidt of Brunswick, Deborah (Ronald) Durfee of Ballston Lake, Diane Schmidt Casale of Brunswick and Caroline (Stephen) Willson of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Robert M. Henry Jr., Russell J. Henry, Matthew Maloney, Macaire Cognetti, Erin E. Durfee, Carmine C. Casale III, Maria D. Casale, Rachel C. Willson and Joseph Schmidt; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Sarah Henry. She was predeceased by three brothers, Michael, Edward and Simon Gorski and a sister, Josephine Mazula.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
