Wynantskill-Mary Ellen Panichi O'Neil, 49 ,of Marion Avenue Wynantskill, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Troy, she was beloved wife of William J. O'Neil and cherished mother of William P. O'Neil of Wynantskill. She was loving daughter of Catherine Grady Panichi of Wynantskill and the late Peter Panichi and daughter-in-law of Beverly O'Neil of Troy.

She had resided in Wynantskill all her life and was educated at St. Jude's School in Wynantskill, Catholic Central High School class of 1972 and attended Hudson Valley Community College.

Mary Ellen was most recently employed by CVS Pharmacy in Wynantskill and prior to that at Pacamor Bearings in North Greenbush for 10 years and at ONBANK and Union National Bank in Wynantskill for 18 years.

She was a Twin Town Mom, a coach for Classie Lassie in Wynantskill and a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill.

Survivors in addition to her husband ,son, mother and mother-in-law include; her cherished and devoted uncle and aunt, Dominic and Olive Panichi of Wynantskill; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Connie Panichi of Wynantskill, Colleen (late Dean) Everton of North Greenbush, Beverly and Martin Ryfa of Fuera Bush, N.Y; her nieces and nephews, Candice Panichi of Wynantskill, John Scott Panichi of Wynantskill, Ross Everton of North Greenbush and Danielle Ryfa of Fuera Bush; several cousins and many loving friends. She was predeceased by her brother, John Panichi and father-in-law, William J. O'Neil Jr..

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues Troy and at 9:30am from St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2-8pm. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, in Troy.
