Mary Lee (Pemrick) Dormandy

Schaghticoke - Mary Lee Dormandy, 61, of Master Street died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at St. Peter’s Hospital after a battling a sudden illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Pemrick, M.D. and Alice L. Simpson Pemrick and wife for 39 years of Gary D. Dormandy. She was raised in Troy and resided in 
Wallingford, CT from 1977-2008, in Schaghticoke for the past 8 years and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in Nursing in 1977. 

As a Registered Nurse for 39 years, Mary was devoted to the art of nursing, working as a hospital floor nurse and as a nurse and administrator in several home healthcare agencies. Her true love was as a nursing educator guiding, mentoring, and teaching both the novice and experienced nurse.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and loved raising her 3 children.    

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Matthew J. Dormandy, Schaghticoke; two daughters, Kelly Lee Dormandy, Los Angeles and Heather Ann Dormandy, Schaghticoke; two brothers, Donald Paul Pemrick, Los Angeles and James (Eileen) Pemrick, Troy and a nephew, Thomas R. Pemrick, Troy. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Troy.
