Mary Margaret A. 'Mig' Cipperley, RN, 81

West Sand Lake - Mary Margaret A. 'Mig' Cipperley, RN, 81, born October 29, 1931 died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Rye, NY, she was daughter of the late Vernon E. Ashline and Addie Mae Gudenoge Ashline.

Mary Margaret or Miggie or just Mig graduated 60 years ago from Columbia Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Hudson, NY. She loved being a nurse, and worked several years at Samaritan Hospital in Troy in labor and delivery - "the happiest place in the house". She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas I. And her three surviving children, Kristine, Susan and Michael and 9 nieces and nephews. Lyndon (MaryBeth) predeceased her by 13 years but is survived by his wife and her 3 children, David, Timothy and Michelle and 5 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Jeanne and a brother, Herman.

Mary Margaret was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church in West Sand Lake, teaching Sunday school, organizing Bible School and writing publicity for the Annual Church Fair. She was also a member of the Sand Lake Historical Society and the Bicentennial Committee.

She was the best of friends to many, a helping hand to all and too many times to remember offered her professional services to any who needed her talent and skills. Alzheimer's disease robbed her of the last 12 years.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Friday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:30 PM at Salem United Methodist Church Shaver Road West Sand Lake with Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Bush, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
