Mary Agnes Lowell Burger, 95

East Greenbush Mary Agnes Lowell Burger, 95, formerly of Averill Park died Monday, September 13, 2004 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William Lowell and the late Mary Carney Lowell. and wife of the late John C. Burger.

She had resided in Averill Park for 43 years and in Waterford and South Carolina and Lansingburgh. .

Mrs. Burger was employed at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for several years, retiring in 1971. Prior to that she worked for Cluett, Peabody and Company in Troy and the A&P Markets in Troy and Wynantskill as a meat wrapper for 13 years.

She is survived by a son, John P. Burger of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, Carla Johnson, Lorraine Wharton, Lisa Foil, Christian M. Burger and Michael S. Burger; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy A. Rubeck. and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4292 Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. Andrew Russ, Chaplain of the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9-11am prior to the service. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, in West Sand Lake.
