Martha L. Haight Duffey Moore, 86

Troy - Martha L. Haight Duffey Moore, 86, of Beechwood Apartments Burdett Avenue died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital Troy after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Schenectady, she was daughter of the late Charles Haight and Laura Bostwick Haight and wife of the late Edward James Duffey and Robert C. Moore. She was raised in Schenectady and Stillwater and resided in Iowa, Florida, Eagle Mills and Ballston Spa and at Beechwood Apartments in Troy for the past 3 years and was a graduate of Stillwater High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College.

Mrs. Moore was a clerk for E.F. Hutton in Troy for several years.

She was an active communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy and its Altar Guild, Calvary Episcopal Church in Burnt Hills, and All Saints Episcopal Church in Round Lake. She was a Delegate and participant for several Episcopal Diocesan Conferences. She was a former member of the Beechwood Board of Directors.

Survivors include a son, Shawn E. (Laurie Roberts) Duffey of Troy; a stepson, Robert Moore of Glenville; two grandchildren, Evan James and Andrew Charles Duffey; a sister-in-law, Laurie Haight of New Hope, MN and nieces and nephews, Lowell Haight, Kari Wibben, Margaret Barduson and Thomas Cornelius, III, She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Haight; a sister, Carolyn Cornelius and a niece, Heather Haight.

A Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 3:00 PM at All Saints Episcopal Church Simpson Avenue Round Lake with Rev. Donald Latham , Rector, officiating with a reception to follow.

There will be no calling hours.

Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery.

Martha's family would like to thank the Troy Fire Department, Engine 2, Medic 2 P.A. Mark Sullivan and St. Mary's E.R. staff and Albany Medical Center Trauma Center and Neurosurgery Department for their prompt and professional care and understanding. To the staff of AMC D4 east and St. Mary's Hospice for their compassionate support and care and to all of their friends for their prayers and support.
