Martha Donahue Miller, 92

Troy -Martha Donahue Miller, 92 , of Gurley Avenue died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Lansingburgh, she was daughter of the late Martin and Maude (Harden) Donahue and wife of Henry V. Miller for 69 years.

She was raised and educated in Lansingburgh where she resided until 1939, later living in Brunswick.

Martha was a self employed private duty home health aid for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano and teaching piano.

She was a very active member of Memorial United Methodist Church (now Hope United Methodist Church) serving on the staff parish committee. Martha was past President of United Methodist Women for 10 years. She also was a member Christian Women, the Ilium Literary Club and Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for 1425 hours. She was also a member of the West Sand Lake Grange and Brunswick Elks Auxiliary.

Survivors in addition to husband include 4 daughters; Carolyn (Alfred) Chenot of Loudonville, Nancy (Joseph) Couch of Cohoes, Judith (James) Koblenzer of Lansingburgh, and Jean (Kenneth) Purcell of Troy; 2 sisters; Edna Darmetko of Clifton Park and Pearl DePoalo of Colonie; 8 grandchildren; April VonBorstel of Maryland, Joann (Paul) Lionarons of West Sand Lake, Darren (Kate) Purcell of Ballston Spa, Debra Walker of NYC, Sharon (John) Korzelius of Oakfield, NY, Eric (Jude) Koblenzer of Troy, Keith Purcell of Lansingburgh, and Marcy (Matt) Fiet of East Greenbush; 17 great grandchildren; a nephew, Martin DePoalo and a niece Marie Woodworth both of Albany and several additional nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at Hope United Methodist Church 566 Brunswick Road Eagle Mills with Rev. David Martin, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday from 4-7.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.

Contributions may be made in memory of Martha Miller to Hope United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
