Marjorie S. Rose

Troy- Marjorie S. Rose, of Troy, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Heritage House Nursing Center in Troy after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late George Spence Jr. and Mary (Galusha) Rose.

She had resided in all life in Troy and was a 1940 graduate of Troy High School.

Miss Rose was employed as a typist for many years for the New York State Board of Appeals and Civil Service and Corporation Tax.

She was a former member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Troy and the Order of the Eastern Star. Miss Rose was a Navy WAVE during World War II serving as a Radio Intelligence Specialist Third Class.

She is survived by a friend, Ruth Caruso of Troy and several cousins, Marilyn Lonbaken and Louis Harding of California and Daniel and MaryLou Galusha of Williamstown. She was predeceased by her step father, Edward Rose and two aunts, Ruth Harding and Ella Lamb.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11am at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. David Martin, Pastor of Hope United Methodist Church in Eagle Mills, officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.

Contributions may be made in memory of Miss Rose to the charity of ones choice.
