Marjorie Ewing Kittell

Troy - Marjorie Ewing Kittell, formerly of Fifth Avenue in Lansingburgh, died Friday, December 22, 2006 of natural causes at Heritage House Nursing Center in Troy.

Born in Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Blanche Ewing and wife of the late Howard A. Kittell.

She had resided in the Troy area most of her life and was a graduate of Lansingburgh schools, Russell Sage College and earned her Master's degree at New York University.

Mrs. Kittell taught home economics at Knickerbocker Junior High School in Lansingburgh and Averill Park High School.

She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Troy, sang in the choir and was a member of the Doubles Club of the church. She was also a member of the Lansingburgh Historical Society, Lansingburgh PTA and Tuesday Club of Lansingburgh.

She is survived by a daughter, Louise Kittell Plumb (Robert) of Potomac, MD; a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth DiGioia (Louis) of Springfield, VA and a great grandson, Jack DiGioia. She was predeceased by two brothers, Preston D. Ewing and Richard C. Ewing.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the First United Presbyterian Church 1915 Fifth Avenue Troy with Rev. Alfred Siegel, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Kittell to the Lansingburgh Historical Society 2 114th Street Troy, NY 12182.
