Marion Vivian Coonley Savage

Troy - Marion Vivian Coonley Savage was born on March 6, 1920 in Troy and was daughter of the late Howard Wesley Coonley and May Drake Coonley.

She was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1938, and the Mildred Elley School. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the Behr-Manning Corporation.

Following a seven-year courtship, Marion was married to Richard M. Savage on September 1, 1945. Richard pre-deceased Marion in June 2002.

Marion was devoted to her family and enjoyed sharing her love of art and music and traveling with them. She was a long time and active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham and participated in the Senior Choir and the Handbell Choir and various committees. She was also a member of the Triune Musical Company and the Footlighters Community Theater group.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol S. Malone (Jack) of Albany; her son, Robert B. Savage, of Latham; her granddaughter, Suzanne L. Malone, of Albany; her sister, Marjorie LaRose (William) of Cazenovia; three nieces; a grandniece and her beloved dog, Mint.

She was predeceased by her husband and her infant daughter, Barbara Jeanne Savage.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Calvary United Methodist Church Corner of Belle Ave & Ridge Place in Latham with Rev. John Phillippe, Minister of Visitation, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Albany Medical Center Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research, PO BOX 8928 Albany, NY 12214-8081 or Calvary United Methodist Church 15 Ridge Place Latham, NY 12110.

The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge Dr. Theodore Zeltner, Dr. Eric Molho, the entire staff of the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center of Troy, and the staff of 4 Nolan Riddle at St. Peter's Hospital for their unending care, comfort and compassion.

Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie.
