Troy - Marilyn G. Dufty Spiers, 76, of Woodlawn Court Troy, died Monday, June 18, 2007 at Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush after a long illness.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Russell Dufty and Marion (Markle) Dufty and wife of the late Carlton I. Spiers.
She was raised in Green Island where she resided until 1948 and had resided on Ford Avenue in Troy for many years prior to moving to Woodlawn Court. She was a graduate of Heatly High School in Green Island class of 1949.
Mrs. Spiers was employed with the Wynantskill School District for 37 years, retiring as cafeteria manager in 1991.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy .
She is survived by a daughter, Marianne and husband Randy Pastore of Wynantskill; two sons, Andrew W. and wife Doreen Spiers of Averill Park andJeffrey A. and wife Fran Spiers of Johnsonville; two sisters, Elaine and husband George Phoenix of Cohoes and Shirley and husband William Shultis of Sebring, FL; five grandchildren, A.J. Spiers, Danielle and Andria Pastore and Melissa Grant and Stacy and husband Mark Morris; her companion, Raymond Tilley of Troy and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Douglas Thomson, officiating.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie.
