Marie E. (Weychert) Leber

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Rosalie (Menni) Weychert and married for 65 years to the late Edward C. Leber. She moved to Troy in 2007 where she resided at Diamond Ridge until recently moving to Van Rensselaer Manor. She was a graduate of Germantown High School in Philadelphia. Marie was a homemaker and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service.

After moving to New York, she remained a loyal fan of her hometown teams, especially the Phillies and the Eagles. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed cruises, playing Pinochle and other card games, and trips to Atlantic City. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Philadelphia and a current congregant of Brunswick Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice (Chip) Hindes of West Sand Lake; a sister, Florence Peterson of Plymouth Meeting, PA; two grandsons, SSG Kevin (Haleigh) Hindes of Troy, and Ryan Hindes of West Sand Lake; two great grandchildren, Maxwell and Morgan Hindes, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers: Oscar, William, Jules, and Robert and four sisters: Hilda, Elsie, Edna and Mildred.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11AM at the Brunswick Church 42 White Church Lane Troy with Rev. Chris Garrison and Rev. Elizabeth Shen O'Connor, co-officiating.

Interment will be held in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, Thursday at 2PM.
