Margaret E. Hammon Stockwell, 88

Troy - Margaret E. Hammon Stockwell, 88,formerly of Troy, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long illness.

Born in Trenton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Hammon and Margaret (Barnes) Hammon and wife of the late Harry B. Stockwell Sr.

She had resided most of her life in Troy.

Mrs. Stockwell was a cook at RPI for 25 years retiring in 1984 and prior to that worked at the former Nightengale Nursing Home.

She was involved in the Salvation Army Troy Corp for many years.

Survivors include a son, Ronald C. Stockwell (Gail) of Troy; a daughter, Janice Betit of Cohoes; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Harry B. Stockwell Jr. and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Richard Scheu, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8PM.

Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie.
