Margaret Micalian, 86

Averill Park - Margaret Micalian, 86, of Sheer Road died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Teresian House Albany after a long illness.

Born in Watervliet, she was daughter of the late Hagop Micalian and Lucy Donigian Micalian and longtime companion of the late Edward J. Campbell. She had resided on Sheer Road in Averill Park for most of her life and was a graduate of Averill Park High School and Mildred Elley to become a court stenographer.

Ms. Micalian was a secretary for Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer for many years and operated her families farm on Sheer Road in Averill Park for many years.

She was a tremendous gardener.

Survivors include two special friends, Katherine Moss, West Sand Lake and Lori Gaba, West Sand Lake; two nephews, Kapriel Arakelian, North Oxford, MA and Haig Arakelian, Worcester, MA; two nieces, Melanie Owens, Brooklyn, NY and Marina Merian, Framingham, MA. She was predeceased by a sister, Rose Larkin and a brother, Kapriel Micalian.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route150 West Sand Lake on Monday from 9-10AM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30AM at the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church 255 Spring Avenue Troy with Rev. Fr. Bedros Shetilian, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
