Margaret G. Harley, 90

North Greenbush - Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Margaret G. Harley, 90 years old joined her husband, family and friends into eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2010.

Born in Watervliet, she was daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Bennett Hildebrandt and wife of the late James V. Harley Sr. She had resided in the Watervliet and Troy areas all her life and attended St. Brigid's School in Watervliet, Catholic Central High School and Watervliet High School.

Mrs. Harley was a homemaker and retired in 1978 after serving 27 years at Sage and freshman dining halls at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

She was a communicant of the former St. Francis de Sales Church in Troy and the Women's Club, the Rosary Altar Society and Couples Club of the church. She was also a member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks Ladies Auxiliary and Senior Citizens Club of Watervliet.

Survivors include a son, James V. Harley Jr. And wife Diane of Albany; a daughter, Deborah M. Murray and husband David of Saratoga Springs;; seven grandsons, James and Jeffrey Harley of South Carolina, Jason (Dana) Kentzel of East Greenbush, Evan (Julie) Harley of Glenmont, David J., Murray of Brandenton, FL, Darren (Kris) Murray of Danvers Boston and Daniel (Amy) Murray of Philadelphia; six great grandsons, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Anna Dunbar, Mary Lewis and Helen Egan and two brothers, Edward and Raymond Hildebrandt.

The family has requested no calling hours. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10AM at St. Brigid's Church Watervliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be with her husband and family in St. Agnes Cemetery Menands.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Margaret Harley to Mitoaction.org , 14 Pembroke St., Medford, MA 02155 for research in Mitochondrial Disease in honor of her great grandson, Jack Murray.

The family wishes to thank The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County and the staff of Van Rensselaer Manor who cared for her the past several years. Especially the Angels of B1 who were by her side the last few weeks of her life. Her dignity in life ans during her passing was greatly appreciated. May God Bless You All.
