Marcos A. Vela'zquez , 78

Troy Marcos A. Vela'zquez , 78,of Sixth Avenue Troy, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at his residence surrounded by his family, after a long illness.

Born in Lajas Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Monserrate Velez and Ramona Vela'zquez and husband of Lauriana Perez Vela'zquez. He had resided in Lajas, Puerto Rico and Troy and attended school in Lajas, Puerto Rico.

Mr.Vela'zquez was employed at Barclay Home Products in Cohoes as a foreman for several years retiring in 1972.

Survivors in addition to his wife include six daughters, Brunilda Vela'zquez of Albany, Maria (Shawn) Van Wert of Troy, Marta Nazario of Troy, Julia Bradley of Troy, Josephine Vela'zquez of Lajas Puerto Rico and Luz E. Vela'zquez of Troy; three sons, Daniel Vela'zquez of Troy, Antonio Vela'zquez of Cohoes and Marcos Vela'zquez of Troy; three sisters, Monserrate Castro, Petra Morra and Carmen Vela'zquez; 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Miriam Vela'zquez; a son, Marcos Santiago and three sisters, Ivonne, Elonia and Miriam Vela'zquez.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at St. Anthony's Shrine Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, in Troy.
