M. Edward MooradianApril 30, 2009
Eagle Mills - M. Edward Mooradian, 85, of Brunswick Road died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center Troy.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Mihran Mooradian and Alice V. Toomajian Mooradian and husband of Doris Castle Mooradian. He had resided in Eagle Mills for the past 43 years and was a 1941graduate and class president of Troy High School, organizing many class reunions. He also earned his bachelors from Lafayette College in Easton, PA and did graduate work at New York University.
Mr. Mooradian was owner and operator, with his brothers, of Mooradian's Furniture, operating the Watervliet store until his retirement in 1986.
He was an active member and Trustee of Christ Church United Methodist in Troy, a Past President of Watervliet Rotary, a member of the Board of Directors and Past President of Vanderheyden Hall and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Amy (Robert) Morris of Wynantskill; a brother, R. Mihran (Ovsanna) Mooradian of Brunswick; sisters-in-law, Rhoda N. Mooradian of Clifton Park and Betty (Nicholas) Sopchak of Wynantskill; two grandchildren, Claire and Gillian Morris; an uncle, Martin Toomajian of Brunswick; an aunt, Frances Toomajian of Troy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Lucille D. Quinn and a brother, Richard Mooradian.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM at the Christ Church United Methodist 35 State Street Troy with Rev. Nina Nichols, Pastor, officiating.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 3-7 PM.
Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
