Lucille M. Peters, 81

Averill Park - Lucille M. Peters, 81, of Averill Park died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Samaritan Hospital 2215 Burdett Avenue Troy, NY 12180 Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late John LaLima and Concetta Bonafide LaLima, stepdaughter of the late Giovanna 'Jen' LaLima and wife of the late Bernard C. Peters Sr. She was raised in Coxsackie and resided in Averill Park for the past 40 years and was a graduate of Coxsackie High School. She and her husband wintered in Myrtle Beach, SC for many years.

Mrs. Peters was a supervisor for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance at the time of her retirement in 1986, after 38 years of service.

She was an active Communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park, a member of the Thursday Morning Ladies Card Game and very fond of casinos. Lucille was loved by all, well-known for her sense of humor and a great cook.

Survivors include a son, Bernard C. Peters Jr., Troy; a daughter, Doreen J. (Kenneth) Jones, Bloomsburg, PA; five grandchildren, Brian C. and Bryna L. Peters and Jamie C., Kenneth C. and Jessica L. Jones; her siblings, Dr. Josephine LaLima, Slingerlands, Anthony (the late Yvonne 'Bonnie') LaLima, Glenmont and Charlotte (Albert) Salvino, Athens; a brother-in-law, Ambrose (Robin) Peters and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Saturday from 3-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10AM at St. Henry's Church Old Route 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum Troy.
