Lois N. Spataro, 79

Menands - Lois N. Spataro, 79, of Brookside Avenue died Friday, September 04, 2009, at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in North Albany, she was daughter of the late James H. Nevin and Anna Mae McMahon Nevin and wife for 54 years of Vincent J. Spataro. She was raised in North Albany and resided in Rensselaer and then in Menands for the past 54 years and was a 1948 graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany.

Mrs. Spataro was the executive level of the Forcasting Division of New York Telephone and Telegraph in Albany for 37 years, retiring in 1985.

She was an active member of the Albany Curling Club, Women's Council of Albany, Verizon Pioneers, Women's Group of Albany Institute of History and Art and a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a sister, Helen Harbour of Troy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pauline (Francis) Andriano of East Greenbush, Mario Spataro of Troy and Dr. Carlo (Sharon) Spataro of Nanosci, MI; nieces and nephews, Theresa Gillis, Peter Harbour, Mary Grace Police, Kelly Somerville, Shane Somerville and Nelson Harbour and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Somerville; a brother, James H. Nevin and a brother-in-law, Philip Spataro.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 8:30 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor. There will be no calling hours.

Interment will be in Holy Sepluchre Cemetery Rensselaer.
