Lillian Carroll Streever, 95

Troy - Lillian Carroll Streever, 95, of Centerview Drive died Wednesday, August 04, 2010, at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Kingston, NY, she was daughter of the late Thomas J. Carroll and Julia Frederica Carroll and wife of the late Douglas M. Streever. She resided in the Troy area for the past 85 years. She attended school in Kingston and Watervliet and was a graduate of Troy High School and took evening classes at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for drafting. She also attended school for drafting at GE and art classes locally and in Gloucester, MA.

Mrs. Streever was retired from W&LE Gurley in 1954 as an engineering draftsman. Prior to that she worked at General Electric in Schenectady for 5 years and the Watervliet Arsenal for a year.

She was a charter member of Troy Arts Guild and was a member of Troy Stamp Club. She also entered in many art shows as a well known local artist.

Survivors include a niece, Lorraine (Anthony) Milanese of West Sand Lake and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph T. Carroll and two nephews, Richard and Joseph Carroll.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service will be held Friday at 11AM at Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood Avenue Troy. All will meet at the Gardner Earl Chapel. There will be no calling hours.
