Averill Park - Lillian Bloomingdale Karpiak, passed into the hands of the LORD at home on November 16, 2012 with those who loved her around her.

Jesus came and said- "Come to ME my child, it's time. Your pain will cease, Your fear will end. Come live with MY FATHER and ME." You are now my angel mom: you've got your wings and someday GOD will bring me to you - our love will never end. Thank you, mom!

Born in New York City to Lena Gatzendorfer and Frederick Bloomingdale, Lillian spent most of her early years on or near the Hudson River, growing up loving the water. She lived in Lansingburgh most of her life and went to the Lansingburgh schools.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Fred (Bud) and his wife Audrey. John, her devoted husband of almost 63 years, passed away three years ago on Christmas.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Jane M. (Hastings) Marx and her husband Dave, Sr.; her grandson, Michael Hastings and his wife, Antoinette and Lillian's great grandson, Drew, who would light up her life every week. She was also survived by her sister-in-law and husband, Stephanie and Phil Karmazyn; brother-in-law and wife, Harry and Arlene Karpiak; sister-in-law, Mary Foster; brother-in-law and wife, Nick and Josephine Karpiak; brother-in-law, Basil Karpiak; and sister-in-law, Kay Karpiak. Also several nieces and nephews from all over the country including Donna and Ronald Bustin, Jim Bloomingdale and Lynn and Bob Nelson - all who are local.

Our heart-felt "thank you's" to Maryanne Warner, Kate Stewart, Suzanne Peters, Patti O'Brien, Fran Trossbach and Dixie Brown, all who have been taking care of and loving mom - some for as long as 6 years. Also a thank you goes out to Elizabeth Hamlin, mom's palliative care nurse from the Eddy Visiting Nurses. We have become a beautiful extended family - a special gift from GOD!

Lillian met John just before Pearl Harbor, and they got married shortly after he returned home. She worked at the Watervliet Arsenal during the war and then at Berk Ray and Cluett's as a seamstress. She changed careers and worked for the State spending most of her 25 years in Taxation and Finance as a senior clerk and supervisor. Lillian enjoyed swimming and bowling. She and John played golf for 35 years starting in 1964. Her passions were her flowers, her kitties and her family.

Relatives and friends may call at the Brunswick Church 42 White Church Lane Troy on Tuesday November 20^th from 2-4PM with a Celebration Service to follow at 4PM.

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
