Lewis 'Ned' E. Harley

October 26, 1937 ~ February 27, 2016 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Troy - Lewis 'Ned' E. Harley, 78, of Dunham Street died suddenly Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Lewis S. Harley and Mae Glasheen Harley and husband for 59 years of Patricia Leonard Harley.  He had resided in Troy all his life and was a 1955 graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. 

Mr. Harley was a Quality Control Leader at General Electric Silicone in Waterford for 40 years, retiring in 1998

He was a 44 year member of the Troy Lodge of Elks #141 and enjoyed model aircraft and boats, camping at Galway Lake and golfing.  He was a Coast Guard veteran. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Nadine Fong, Wynantskill; his grandchildren, Jenny (Chris) Ordon, Jaime (Blain) Smith and Bryan Fong; his great grandchildren, Tyler and Trey Ordon and Austin Smith; his siblings, Robert (Joyce) Harley, North Troy, Lawrence (Debra) Harley, Speigletown, Sandra Swasey, Clifton Park and Mary Lou (Robert) Goyer, Brunswick and several nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9 AM at the  funeral home and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato.

Interment will be in  Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Lewis E. Harley to the Alzheimer's Association of NENY 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405 Albany, NY 12205 or American Cancer Society One Penny Lane Latham, NY 12110.
