Kathryn N. File Ray, 90

Troy - Kathryn N. File Ray, 90, died Friday, March 05, 2010, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center, after a long illness.

Born in West Sand Lake, she was daughter of the late William E. File and Ada C. Bame File. She had resided in Troy most of her life. Since the age of 9 she resided on Hamilton Avenue Troy and since 1998 in West Sand Lake and Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Kay was a photo engraver for Teledyne-Gurley in Troy for 33 years, retiring in 1985.

She was a former member of the Third Presbyterian Church, the Council of Ministries, the church choir and the Women's Club of the church. She was also a member of Troy Musical Arts.

Survivors include her devoted daughter, Donna R. (James) Fitzpatrick of Averill Park; three grandsons, Stephen James (Kathy) Fitzpatrick of Troy, Jeffrey David (Cindy) Fitzpatrick of Troy and William John (Tracy) Fitzpatrick of Troy and her great grandchildren, Sara, Thomas, Jason, Jeffery Jr., Michael, Megan, Zachary, Morgan and Abigail.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 PM at Elmwood Cemetery Route 150 and Shaver Road West Sand Lake with Rev. Andy Russ, Chaplain of The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, officiating. There will be no calling hours.

The family would like to thank the Eddy Heritage House third floor staff for their love and care of Kay.
