June was a long-time member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Latham, serving on the Worship Committee; United Methodist Women, Treasurer; Knitting Ministry; Hospitality Committee, and sharing her gift of song and music as a member of the Vocal Choir and the Harp Choir. She continued to be an advocate for music education for the young people in her church her whole life. She participated on the Program Committee for Primetimers, an active group for seniors.

When her daughter Elizabeth turned three, June became an assistant teacher in Calvary Church’s nursery school. Her career in early childhood education was thus launched. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and the Albany Mission. Currently she was a member of the Mohawk Chapter of the DAR. She lent a calm, ‘can do’ attitude to all of the groups she served with.  In her retirement she traveled widely to Africa, England, Holland, Prince Edward Island,  U. S.
