Joshua Lee Valerio

November 30, 1981 ~ October 10, 2016 (age 34) 34 Years Old

Cohoes - Joshua L. Valerio, 34, of Amity Street, died Monday, October 10, 2016, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Fort Carson, CO, he was son of Michael Rios Valerio and Kelly M. (Michael Kaiser) Dennis Valerio, Averill Park and husband for 10 years on October 7th of Amanda Olmstead Valerio. He spent most of his life living in Averill Park and Wynantskill, only recently moving to Cohoes. He was a 1999 graduate of Averill Park High School and studied Biology at The State University of New York College at Oneonta. 

He was a cashier for Stewart’s and Price Chopper in Cohoes.

Josh was a member of Alpha Phi Omega; a national service fraternity based on the Scout Oath and Law, a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Saturday's Bread meal program in Oneonta. He and Amanda loved participating in Kidney walks. He was a huge animal lover and life long and dedicated Denver Broncos Fan. 

Survivors in addition to his parents and wife, include his brother, Juan F. (Deanna) Valerio, Poestenkill; his step brothers, Michael (Julie) and Joseph Kaiser, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Eugene Olmstead, Geneva; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Doris Dennis and paternal grandparents, Juanita and Francisco Valerio.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 4 - 7PM. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11AM at the Third Presbyterian Church 113 Winter Street Troy with Rev. John McAuley, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in  Woodside Cemetery East Poestenkill.
