Josephine Lair Lerner, 96

Troy - Josephine Lair Lerner, 96, of Griswold Heights died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in New York City, she was daughter of the late George Lair and Josephine Difenbach Lair and wife of the late John Lerner who died in 1970. She had resided in Troy since 1968 and was a graduate of New York City schools.

Mrs. Lerner was a homemaker. She loved knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking for her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan (Frank) Harris of Troy and Jean Fryer of Troy; four sons, George (Susan) Lerner of Sparks, NV, Alvin Lerner of Bronx, NY, Patrick (Sharon) Lerner of Valley Falls and Gary (Colleen Cleary) Lerner of Clifton Park; her grandchildren, her special granddaughter, Jennifer (Tim) Peltier and James (Loretta) Fryer Jr., Frank Harris Jr., Jonathan (Niamh) Lerner, George Lerner Jr., Jon Lerner and Nikki Cleary; several great grandchildren; two nieces, Dorothy Donohue and Josephine Rella and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Robert Lerner; a brother, Harry Lair; a sister, Georgiana McMenamin and nieces and nephews, James and Mary McMenamin, James Donohue and William Rella.

Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
