Joseph Michael Maselli, 71

Wynantskill - Joseph Michael Maselli, 71, died on September 29, 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Troy on July 24, 1940 and was son of the late Nicholas J. Maselli Sr. and Ruth Batchelder Maselli and beloved husband for 46 years of Mary Crossen Maselli.

Joe was raised in Lansingburgh and attended Lansingburgh High School. He served in the US Army National Guard from 1960-64 in the 205 Armored Tank Division. He retired after 30 years from Sterling Drug Company of Rensselaer, NY(currently Organichem).

Joe is a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Past Commander of Apollo Commandery, Former High Priest of Phoenix Chapter 133 RAM, Past Master of Phoenix Lodge #58 of Lansingburgh, was awarded the prestigious DeMolay Legion of Honor for his dedication and commitment. Also a member of Oriental Temple and Bloss Council of Cryptic Mason.

In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his sister, Joann (William) Reed, sister-in-law, Kathie (late Frank) Vumbacco and Cheryl Maselli Johns, brother-in-law, Thomas (Karen Lay) Crossen, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his much loved and missed son, Michael James and his brother, Nicholas J. Maselli, Jr.

He enjoyed camping, scuba diving, watching old westerns and playing with his buddy, Jojo.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11AM at the funeral home with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Joseph Michael Maselli to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205.
