John (Jack) Edward Kelly, 69

Sand Lake John (Jack) Edward Kelly, 69, of Sand Lake, New York, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, NY, after a brief illness.

Born in Amsterdam on February 20, 1936, he was the son of the late Edward J. Kelly and Madeline S. Kelly. Mr. Kelly received his education at St. Mary's Catholic School in Amsterdam, New York and graduated in 1954. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp. in 1954 during the Korean War, received the National Defense Service Medal in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was a 1958 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College. Mr. Kelly recently returned to the area after having lived in Tennessee for a number of years.

He is survived by his four children, Colleen M. (Sleezer) Kelly and her husband, John Sleezer of New York, Jacqueline Harris and her husband, Michael of Vermont, Timothy J. Kelly and his wife, Christine of New York and Kathleen Iannelli and her husband, Mark of New Hampshire; two sisters, Audrey Putorti of Amsterdam, New York and Jo Ann Latza of Scotia, New York; 7 grandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church in Stillwater where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. William Turnbull, Pastor. Interment Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
