Troy John W. Beale, 72, of Bank Street Troy, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late James Beale and Ada (Shaver) Beale and husband for almost 50 years of Patricia M. Doran Beale.

He had resided in Troy, all his life residing in the same home and was educated at Troy schools and Troy High School.

Mr. Beale was a brakeman for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad in Colonie for 30 years retiring 23 years ago.

He was local chairman of the United Transportation Union in Colonie, a member of the Brunswick Sportsmen Club and the North Troy Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of the Army National Guard.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters, Maureen Bard (John) of Wilmington, DE, Sharon Derby (Stephen) of Troy, Theresa Veley (Mike) of Orlando, FL and Patricia Beale of Maplewood; a son, John W. Beale Jr.(Colleen) of Troy; a sister, Beverly Lyman of Mt Clements, MI; seven grandchildren, Michelle and Christopher Bard, Laura and Melanie Derby, Michael Veley and David and Stephen Beale and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Vera Howes and Mary Herzog.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM from St. Francis de Sales Church Congress Street Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Donald Ophals, Pastor. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4- 8 PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Beale to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard Rensselaer, NY 12144 or Brunswick Sportsmen Club Route 2 Cropseyville, NY 12052.
