Joanne (Joan) E. Sagendorf, 66

East Greenbush - Joanne (Joan) E. Sagendorf, 66, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Albany, she was daughter of Dorothy Joyce Middleton Sagendorf of East Greenbush and the late Kenneth Sagendorf. She had resided in East Greenbush all her life and was a graduate of Averill Park High School.

Joan was employed at the NYS Legislature for many years as a stenographer.

She was an avid ice skater, skating weekly at RPI and was a member of a skating club in Massachusetts. Joan enjoyed dancing and many years ago was on the Dick Clark Show.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her dear cousins, Jean and Jerry Middleton and her loving aunts and uncles, Gordon and Rachel Middleton, Doug and Faye Middleton, Betty Athan and Sylvia Chamberlin and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by an uncle, Harold Middleton and an aunt, Eileen Veiga.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route150 West Sand Lake with Rev. Amber Malone, Pastor of St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 PM.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Joanne E. Sagendorf to St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church PO Box 213 East Schodack, NY 12063 or the Nassau Ambulance or the East Schodack Fire Department.
