Joanne M. 'Jody' Chittenden, 66

Brunswick - Joanne M. 'Jody' Chittenden, 66 , of Roberts Drive died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Samaritan Hospital after a 11 year long courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Frederick J. Cote and Rosemary McGill Cote and wife for 43 years of Richard E. Chittenden. She had resided in the Troy area all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1964.

Jody was a secretary for the New York State Education Department for 30+ years, retiring in 2004.

She enjoyed visiting Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, traveling to Florida with her husband and children and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and actively supported the American Cancer Society.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Tracy (Joseph) Carroll, Clifton Park; two sons, Scott (Heather) Chittenden and Eric (Misty) Chittenden, both of Saratoga; six grandchildren, Joseph and Samantha Carroll, Jacob, Reece, Cameron and Michaela Chittenden; sister, Shelley (Bruce B.) Cote Gans, Townsend, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Cote.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday from 4-7 pm.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:15AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and 12 Noon at St. Augustine's Church Lansingburgh where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Spenard OSA , Pastor.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Joanne M. Chittenden to the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Road Loudonville, NY 12211.
