Joan A. Mahoney

Wynantskill Joan A. St. Aubin Mahoney, 55, of St. John's Terrace, died Friday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a long illness. 

Born in Troy, she was daughter of Rosanna Petit St. Aubin of Shelbourne, VT and the late Alfred St. Aubin and wife of Thomas P. Mahoney. She had resided the past 22 years in Wynantskill and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College.

Mrs. Mahoney was employed for 25 years with New York State. She retired in 1996 as a Senior Audit Clerk with the Department of Civil Service and formerly the Department of Taxation and Finance. 

Following her retirement, Joan started her own business, Creations of Quality, custom window treatments.  She was a gifted seamstress and multi-talented designer.

She was a member of the American Sewing Guild, the Home Embroiders and Machine Sewing Group as well as the Capitoliers and the Society of Decorative Painters. 
     
Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include her daughter Laura J. Mahoney of Troy and a sister Patricia A. Brochu of Shelbourne, VT.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 8:30am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues Troy and at 9:00am from St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8pm. 
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
